The life policy they will demand.
Almost every HPP will require life cover. UK retail family takaful barely exists. So the pious household buys a conventional term policy and hopes the board has already had this fight.

Providers want to know the plan can be settled if you die. Conventional answer: term assurance assigned to the lender. Islamic answer would be family takaful. In British retail, that market is thin to the point of theatre. Households buy Aviva and sleep.
Buildings cover keeps the brick. Life cover keeps the shares from becoming a debt on a death.
The split you will actually meet
Many UK boards treat conventional term assurance as a need — gharar in insurance is the old fight, necessity and the absence of takaful the modern one. Some voices still say no. This magazine will not pick a mufti. It will say: the bank will require a policy, buildings cover is a separate file, and a death without either can turn a partnership into an estate dispute.
Read the assignment. If the policy pays the bank first, what happens to your share. If it pays the estate, who buys the remaining units. Same questions as faraid, with a premium debit.
